How Our Onboarding Process Saves Us Time & Money

So far this week we have had our special guest interview with Jonathan Goodman and talked about 8 Tips for Client Retention

We’ve received a lot of messages about both – so thanks so much for getting involved! ?

Today we have What’s Working Wednesday and what is working is our Onboarding Process – so how we onboard them onto the programme and convert them into a long-term client

Our FEO is a 6-week Programme so this is how long we have to convince them to stay

It starts from the minute they pay. We give them a goody bag. This contains vouchers, discounts, a welcome pack, a protein bar, a water bottle. To really make them feel they have purchased something different and special. It is nice to have something to give them to have straight away whilst they wait for their programme to start.

We also add them into the members group and book them in for their initial 1-2-1 meeting. This involves us giving them 30 minutes of our time to check out their fitness levels, injuries and goals and generally make the process more personal and get to know them.

Then, the following day they will receive a welcome card. This will be handwritten and it’s going above and beyond. Not many gyms will do this!

This is all only the first few days of them joining us

This carries on throughout the whole of the 6 weeks ?

We have an online programme that runs the entire 6 weeks with them. Building their confidence and answering any questions they may have.

On top of this, they have a weekly message from one of the admin or the coaches. They also get a 2 week follow up at week 2, 4 and 6. Again, finding out what struggles and worries they have, what they’re enjoying, and what they aren’t.

So what’s working for us right now is definitely the onboarding process

It’s exactly the same as the FitPro Portal ??

Firstly you complete a really short application form which tells us about trainings we create for you

Then we book a 1-2-1 call with me so I can answer any questions you might have and have a good chat

Then there’s an email follow up in place which points out different trainings

And then you join the Facebook Group ??


So, really make sure your clients complete your initial front end offer successfully and enjoy it so much there’s no barrier or hesitation about carrying on with you long-term

Because remember, it’s cheaper and easier to keep current clients then to find new ones!
